God Who Purifies — The Refiner’s Fire
from The Awakened to Deliver Podcast
Awakened to Deliver — The Names of God Week 42 — God Who Purifies Day 1 – The Refiner’s Fire ⸻ Episode Highlights • Malachi 3:1–3 reveals God as a refiner who purifies His people, removing what is impure so they can worship Him in righteousness. • The refiner’s fire illustrates God’s purposeful work. His desire is not to destroy what belongs to Him but to remove what hinders holiness and faithful devotion. • God’s refining work flows from His holiness and faithfulness. He is committed to transforming those He has redeemed. • Purification is not condemnation. Through Jesus Christ, believers have been forgiven and freed from the condemnation their sins deserve. • The Holy Spirit exposes sinful attitudes, hidden compromise, pride, unforgiveness, and misplaced trust so believers can respond with repentance and obedience. • Trials can reveal areas where our faith needs to grow, but not every hardship should be interpreted as God’s correction for a specific sin. • Spiritual maturity involves more than outward behavior. God’s transforming work reaches our hearts, motives, desires, and priorities. ⸻ Scriptures to Reflect On • Malachi 3:1–3 — The Lord comes as a refiner, purifying His people so they may worship Him in righteousness. • Psalm 66:10 — God tests and refines His people as silver is refined. • 1 Peter 1:6–7 — Trials test the genuineness of faith, which is more precious than gold. • Romans 8:1 — There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. • Hebrews 12:10–11 — God’s discipline is intended for our good so that we may share in His holiness. • Philippians 1:6 — God faithfully continues the good work He began in His people. ⸻ Takeaway Thought God’s refining work is not intended to destroy His people but to purify them. Like a refiner removing impurities from precious metal, the Lord works to remove what hinders our worship, obedience, and devotion. When God exposes sin, we do not need to hide or defend ourselves. Through Jesus Christ, we can come before Him in repentance, trusting His grace and depending upon the Holy Spirit to transform us. Our hope is not in our ability to make ourselves pure. It is in the Savior who has redeemed us and continues His work within us. Do not resist the hands of the Refiner. Surrender what He exposes and trust the One who is faithfully making you more like Christ. ⸻ Stay Connected Grab a free digital copy of 30 Days of Patience and explore more resources in the Linktree below.
