God, Who Raises the Dead

"...but that was to make us rely not on ourselves, but on God who raises the dead." 2 Cor 1:9 I love that godly old spiritual from the horrible days of slavery: "Nobody knows the trouble I've seen." But--praise God!--it is not quite true! Our sufferings are not totally unique to us. Others have suffered, just as we do. This morning even Paul recounts his own despair, and promises marvelous deliverance.
