May 23, 2024 Daily Devotion: "God Will Bring You Out" Ruth 1:20-21 New International Version 20 “Don’t call me Naomi,[a]” she told them. “Call me Mara,[b] because the Almighty[c] has made my life very bitter. 21 I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The Lord has afflicted[d] me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me.” In what circumstance are you experiencing pain, bitterness, and anguish? God does not promise us pain-free lives, but He does promise that every hurt and every loss is for His purpose. We must be willing to surrender our plans, our desires, and our expectations to the will of God, even when we may not understand the reason why.
