There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” (NIV)The Israelites forgot what God had already done for them, and fear caused them to wander for 40 years. We can make the same mistake if we let the enemy convince us that our current challenge is too big.
