Welcome to the Lakeside Church Podcast! The Lakeside Church exists to Make Disciples; New Ones, Better Ones. Our focus is to share the love of Jesus, present the hope and freedom of God’s word, and guide people to grow in faith as Disciples of Jesus. It’s not just a catchy slogan for us, it’s our mission. (Matthew 28:19-20) The goal of the spiritually mature Christian is godliness — becoming more like God's nature and character, or "Christlikeness." It’s not about being a better version of yourself, but becoming more like Jesus. Godliness is a personal attitude toward God, expressed through actions that please Him — this is our devotion to God. As Christians, devotion isn’t just an activity; it’s an attitude rooted in three essential elements: The love of God, the fear of God, and the desire for God.
