Godliness with Contentment

False teachers suppose that godliness is a means of gain, but Paul teaches that godliness with contentment is great gain. We brought nothing into the world and can take nothing out; with food and clothing we will be content. Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and ruin, and the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, which has led some away from the faith. Prosperity preaching still repeats the error. The great mystery of godliness is Christ himself, and contentment is found in knowing him.
