God’s Delight in Truth “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.” — Proverbs 12:22 God delights in those who are truthful. One thing is certain: I think everyone has lied at some point in life. Being a person for whom truth is a fundamental part of character is difficult nowadays because the society we live in unfortunately promotes deception, self-interest, and stepping over others as a way of life. Choose to be a delight in God’s eyes rather than an abomination! Truth is a fundamental principle in the character of those who seek to please God. While lying may seem beneficial in the moment, it brings consequences and distances us from His will. In contrast, truth brings freedom, strengthens relationships, and draws us closer to God. Even in a world where falsehood appears to be the norm, choosing truth is an act of faith and courage. May we be a light and an example, living with integrity and bringing joy to the Lord! Truth is one of the pillars of Christian character and one of the qualities that most reflect God’s own nature. The Bible teaches us that God is truth itself (John 14:6) and that Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44). This means that whenever we choose truth, we align ourselves with God and distance ourselves from the enemy. Being a person of truth in a world full of deception is a great challenge, but it is also a powerful testimony. God is pleased with those who choose truth, even when it means going against the current of society. May we be people who reflect the light of truth and righteousness, pleasing the Lord in all we do!
