God’s judgment will come upon Israel, Churches, and Nations that Have Become Like Sodom

7-3-2022 Weekly Messages Meditation of the Week: Psalm 91:1-16 Text: Genesis 18: 20-22 Word Title: God’s judgment will come upon Israel, Churches, and Nations that Have Become Like Sodom         The Lord God, who came to Abraham, told the reason why he came down to earth with two angels: “  And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know” (Genesis 18:20-21).          When the two angels came to Sodom and stayed at Lot’s house, the Bible spoke of how much Sodom’s sin was like: ” But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.” (Genesis 19:4-8).           We can see how severe the sexual corruption between the same sexes that was rampant in Sodom at that time . Also, the word that Lot, a man of God, would give up his daughters to them to protect the two angels, speaks of how detestable their sins were before God at that time.            Prophet Isaiah testified  that Israel had become like the people of Sodom : “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. 3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider. 4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. … Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. 10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.” (Isa 1:2-4,9,10).          After God destroyed the Israelites who became like Sodom and Gomorrah by Babylon and made them slaves to Babylon, He spoke through  prophet Ezekiel about why they became so miserable: “None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born. 6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. 7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. 8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine. 9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. 10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. ….. But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.…. Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, 21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? 22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood. 23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)” (Ezekiel 16:5-10, 15, 20-23).          God said their iniquity was greater than that of Sodom: “As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. 49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty, and committed abominati d.on before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.” (Ezekiel 16. :48-50)        These words of God are not only about Israel, but also about the fallen and apostate churches of God, and the message of judgment against all the Gentile nations who live after them.         God told them their sins in detail, but knowing that they would still resist and not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, whom they did not repent of and sent to atone for their sins, to the end, through   prophet Ezekiel, he will send Gog and all the peoples of Magog on the eve of the battle of Armageddon. He prophesied of judgment on them: ”   And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. 7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.” (Ezekiel 38:1-7).           In order to fulfill the words of this prophecy, God has recently raised up Russia to let us know that He is preparing for the war of Armageddon, which will be at the end of the Great Tribulation. God raises up the nations he uses as an ax in advance to judge Israel and the churches of God he has chosen, and uses them to judge them and then judges the nations who are used as the axe.          The prophet Zechariah prophesied of the judgment of Israel and the ensuing war of Armageddon that would take place on the day of the Lord Jesus Christ at the end of the great tribulation. This leads from the prophecy of  prophet Ezekiel: “Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. “. (Zech. 14:1-3)           Apostle John also witnessed the  scenes from the battle of Armageddon: ” And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS..” Revelation 19:11-16)           Prophet Zechariah also saw and testified of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who reigns over all the earth: “And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one..” (Zech 14:4-9)         When the Lord Jesus Christ comes to judge Israel, the apostate churches, and the Gentile nations, who have sinned and become like Sodom, only the brides of Christ who were raptured and come down with Christ will have the glory of reigning with Christ. Amen! Hallelujah!
