We as a westerners often perceive our democratic governments as the best or even most godly form of government. But God does not choose His leaders through any sort of voting process. He looks at the hearts of men whereas we as men look at the outward aspects of a person. It is therefore unsurprising that we are often fooled by those who mask their true personalities beneath a slick persona.
