God's Majestic Name

Psalm 8:1-9. What is the purpose of humanity? Or more personally we can ask, “Why do I exist and what do I exist for?” The world has proposed answers for this question, but contrary to the proposals of man stands the Word of God and more specifically Psalm 8. In this psalm King David answers the question not by starting with humanity but by first starting with God and His glory. What David knows is that if we are to gain a proper understanding of man’s purpose in God’s universe, then we must begin with a proper understanding of just how majestic Yahweh Adonai is “in all the earth.”
