Ken Harding 3/06/12 Key Verses: Matthew 9:9-13 THE GOSPEL The Gospel is the GOOD NEWS the Jesus came into the world to save sinners like us. The Gospel is bad news because it tells us that we are lost and separated from God forever, without hope and with despair in our future. (Luke 19:10) The Gospel is better news because it says that God loves us and wants us to be saved, but how can this be because we have all sinned and offended God? (Romans 5:6-11) The Gospel is the best news because Jesus took our place, died for our sins and God will now forgive all who come to Him through the Lord Jesus. (John 3:36) The truth of the Gospel includes the lost state of all mankind, the love, mercy and grace of God, the atoning sacrifice (propitiation) of the Lord Jesus and the call to all to repentance and faith in Christ.
