The Bible states in Psalm 103 that God is merciful, He is compassionate and lenient. He is gracious. He shows us kindness and courtesy. He is slow to be angry with us. He will not always scold, reprove, or continually contend with us. Nor does He keep His justified anger always and forever. He has not treated us as our sins have indicated that we deserve; for the wages of sin is death. He has not paid us back according to our continual wrongdoing as we have received from our upbringing. How grateful we should be! He says to us in Matthew 5....that we have heard it said that we should love our neighbors and hate our enemies. But instead He counsels us to behave as He does for we are His children. He tells us to love our enemies,bless them that curse us, do good to those that hate us, and pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us. He tells us that this shows that we are His children. And yes, we are to execute spiritual warfare against evil spirits.
