My heart sunk. He's not old enough to feel "not enough," is he? The truth is, we all feel "not enough" from the time we are young. Why? Because we want other people to accept us... and we want God to accept us, too. We try to please, impress, measure up. Trouble is, no matter how hard you try, it will never happen. at least not on your own. And that, my friend, is exactly the point. The point is that you don't need to do it on your own. You've heard of the beattitudes: the list Jesus gave of attributes you need to have. You know... meek humble merciful pure in heart peacemaker and did we mention... never, ever get mad at someone or think they are stupid. Hmm. Failed already. I've read this so many times and felt like I would never figure it out. But I was missing the point. The point of Jesus' entire message is that life will be easier better more blessed if I don't do it on my own. He never intended to tell you all the ways you're falling short. His message is that your life will be blessed if He is a part of it. Check out this week's podcast to see what Jesus really said in his first message to the America's after his resurrection.
