GOD'S PROMISE - PASTOR DEE ADEKUGBE
from GLC Podcast Hosted by GENESIS LIFE CENTRE
Welcome for our first sermon of the month of December-May you all be blessed and edified by the word of God that will be preached today. The promise starts in Isaiah 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". The fulfilment is seen in our passage of the day in Luke 1. We read the encounter Mary had with God, in Luke Chapter 1, as she received the promise that she would bear the Messiah, she was confused how that would happen but the angel told her "The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God". Pastor Dee parallels the story of Mary to multiple characters in the Bible like Saul, Paul, etc., to show how God can elevate anybody by despite their past history and their status. Christmas season remembers us about God's favors, so let's give Him thanks daily and seek His face that He may use us to accomplish things we cannot do on our own, so His name may be glorified.
