God's Promises

Closing a difficult year, this message answers the question many were asking: where was God? The answer is found in his promises. Scripture contains thousands of promises from God to people, and unlike the promises people make to God, every one God makes he keeps. Anchored in 2 Peter 1, the teaching walks through seven promises Christians can rely on: God supplies every need, his grace is sufficient, he will never leave us, he will have the last word, all things work for good, evil will not prevail, and ultimate victory is ours. Borrowing Spurgeon's framing, it argues that God's promises exceed all precedent, imitation, expectation, and expression, giving reason for hope as a new chapter begins.
