God's Promises in the Midst of Suffering Suffering can feel like a lonely road—one where prayers echo in the silence and hope seems just out of reach. Isaiah 43:2 says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned." God never leaves us to face the fire alone.
