GOD’S PURPOSE OVER YOUR PLANS

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Devotional Message: Scripture: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” – Proverbs 19:21 We often fill our hearts with dreams, goals, and carefully crafted plans. While it’s wise to plan and prepare, Proverbs 19:21 reminds us of a deeper truth—God’s purpose always prevails. No matter how detailed our agendas may be, His divine will is what stands firm in the end. This truth is both humbling and comforting. It humbles us because it teaches us to surrender our limited understanding and embrace God’s infinite wisdom. And it comforts us because we know that even when our plans fail or shift unexpectedly, God’s plan is still intact—and it’s far better than ours. Surrendering to God's purpose doesn't mean we stop dreaming or planning—it means we hold our plans loosely and trust His timing, His direction, and His outcome. True peace comes when we trade control for confidence in the One who knows the end from the beginning. Today, ask yourself: Am I trusting God’s purpose even when my plans don’t go the way I hoped? How can I better surrender my will to His? Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You that Your purpose prevails over every plan I make. Teach me to trust in Your divine direction, even when I don’t understand the path. Help me to surrender my desires to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
