God's Salvation, the Believer's Joy

People can spend their lives searching the mud for treasure while Christ holds out the riches of salvation. Romans 5 says faith in Jesus brings peace with God and a certain hope of God's glory. Even suffering can serve a purpose, as God uses it to produce endurance, character, and hope through His Spirit. Joy rests finally in God's love: Christ died for sinners while they were still His enemies, giving firm assurance when hardship makes His love hard to see.
