God’s Sovereign Choice

from Refuge City Church Hosted by Matthew Thrower

Series: Genesis Sermon: God’s Sovereign Choice In this message, we dive deep into Genesis 25 to explore what it means to trust in God’s sovereignty. Drawing from the story of Isaac and Rebekah, we examine the test of waiting on God—even in seasons of barrenness and uncertainty—and learn that His delays are not denials. We see how God’s promises persist despite human circumstances and how the lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Esau challenge us to value our eternal inheritance over momentary satisfaction. Through the narrative of Jacob being chosen over Esau—despite cultural expectations—we discover that God’s choices are based not on our works, but on His divine purpose. This message is a call to deepen our view of God, letting it shape every aspect of our lives—from prayer and perseverance to the way we value God’s blessings.
