God's purpose in the family physically is to reproduce and replenish the earth and God's purpose in the family spiritually is to reproduce and replenish the kingdom. The second reason is as vital as the first. - God has in Scripture represented Himself in tangible, physical ways, so that we with our finite minds could make the spiritual switch and be able to grasp the real meaning. In scripture, God's primary picture of Himself is that of a parent - Father! He is the perfect Father.
