Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God. INSPIRATION: Welfare entails various forms of financial aid, public assistance, social security, provided to those who are in need of it by the government, civil society organisations or individuals. God has a welfare plan for His people too who we're distressed. He would not let you suffer endless reproach so He made adequate laws and provisions to cater to your needs. But don't take social welfare as your permanent source! Don't get hooked on freebies like someone hooked on hard drugs. Handouts make for temporary solutions that should not be given a permanent status. Handouts are meant to bridge the moment while you work at fixing your temporary inabilities. In you lies the power to turn things around. Don't let the power fuse out unproductively as there's time for everything (Eccl. 3:1). Like Ruth, you can own what used to support you. Turn the odds in your favour. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: ‭‭Turn your odds into empowering and enriching moments. Live above any temporary limitation. PRAYER: Dear Lord, I receive grace to see my setbacks as only temporary and not something to build a permanent monument around. I'm empowered to rise back up from every fall, turning defeats into triumph and owning the fields that I used to depend on for support, in Jesus name.
