This time round, Colin talks to Tanya Hewitt, a specialist in Human and Organisational Compliance, who has been working with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission for many years, and who has recently set up her own consultancy, Beyond Safety Compliance. Tanya discusses the concept of human and organisational compliance and what it truly means, as well as the importance of respecting the voices of those who rely on us to help when it matters.  KEY TAKEAWAYS We must follow the path that makes us happy, not necessarily the path that makes us wealthy. Sometime it's far better to embrace the subjects we're passionate about, than chase the dollar. It is incumbent upon us to ensure that reporting is fair and accurate, and that it is always listened to with faith. If someone raises a concern, we must treat this concern with respect. Everybody makes mistakes, including ourselves. Everyone also must have the chance to apologise and make things right. It is a requirement of leaders to give our people the chance to put things right, and to learn. It is far better to nip a problem in the bud, than wait for it to bloom into something far more serious before we tackle it. Listen to the voices advising us, and look for their concerns.
