from In it to Win it · host Steve Barton
👉 Rule Symposium 2026 Replay 📩 Free Newsletter 📈 Technical Analysis for Beginners 🌎 Travel Channel Recording Date 8-1-2026. The S&P 500 gained 1.1% and appears to be forming a bullish pennant after the Federal Reserve kept rates unchanged, but the U.S. dollar fell 1.6% as expectations for tighter monetary policy faded. At the same time, longer term Treasury yields are threatening major technical breakouts, suggesting investors are demanding greater compensation for holding a currency that continues to lose purchasing power. I'm also watching the Japanese yen carry trade unwind firsthand from Japan, where the yen strengthened 3.9% against the dollar in only a few days. Gold gained 0.9% and may finally be confirming an upside breakout from its triangle pattern, making the risk and reward attractive enough for me to consider moving a meaningful portion of our cash into bullion or PHYS. Silver remains trapped between roughly $54 and $64, while copper looks more constructive after gaining around 1.7% and holding inside its rising channel. Uranium is entering what I see as another attractive accumulation period, especially with the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust trading at an approximately 12% discount while the transcript reports that the trust holds about 81.7 million pounds. Oil dropped 4.1%, natural gas declined 3.6%, coal weakened, platinum gained 3.4%, nickel pulled back 0.4%, and Bitcoin fell 3.6% toward $62,000, leaving me cautious as I look for its next support near $58,000.
