Golden Guest: DeRicki Johnson

December's 2022 Golden Guest DeRicki Johnson is helping to say a farewell to one of the most interestingly turbulent years ,on the heels of the ending of Covid-19. DeRicki and I met on Twitter as a part of the writing/poetry community through our love of poetry. Join us in an uplifting conversation about how poetry found its way into DeRicki's life after he discovered a way to share his thoughts and emotions in a peaceful artistic style. We discuss his upbringing in Fort Worth, TX as a young black youth during the time of integration of schools in the USA. After traveling around the world, he eventually returned back home writing bold, brave, funny, and eclectic poems showcasing his unique outlook on life's many challenges forming the person that we eventually become.
