Goliath Around The World

Send us Fan Mail [Verse 1] Christopher sat beneath the lights, Telling Channel 9 his side, Darlene Jones asked the questions, And the cameras opened wide. Then came a number, nice and certain, Like there wasn't room for doubt, “99.9% of our investors are US,” Well, the paperwork came out. [Pre-Chorus] Pack your bags, grab your passport, Looks like Goliath travelled well, From the beaches to the big cities, There's another story federal records tell. [Chorus] Goliath went around the world, Sprinkling the love from shore to shore, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Turns out America had company after all. Panama, Spain, the UK too, Germany and Denmark made the view, Cambodia to the UAE — 279 foreign victims say Goliath went around the world. [Verse 2] One thousand two hundred and thirty, Victims counted in the States, But another two-seven-nine Were waiting beyond the gates. Ten countries named in court filings, Victims scattered overseas, Some still waiting for notification While governments grant authority. So maybe this wasn't quite the picture That we heard on Channel 9, Because eighteen-and-a-half percent Looks nothing like point-one-nine. [Bridge] Maybe pack the sunscreen, Maybe book a flight, Maybe check the federal filings Before you tell the world you're right. Because numbers have a funny way Of surviving when stories fall, And when the government counts the victims, The map can tell us more than words at all. [Breakdown] Ninety-nine point nine? That's what Christopher said. But the court record now shows victims Far beyond the Stars and Stripes instead. 1,509 identified. 279 overseas. Not rumours. Not promoters. Numbers filed with the court for everyone to see. [Final Chorus] Goliath went around the world, Sprinkling the love from shore to shore, Australia, Canada, Brazil, And apparently there were plenty more. Panama, Spain, the UK too, Germany and Denmark made the view, Cambodia to the UAE — 279 foreign victims say This wasn't just the USA. Goliath went around the world, While Christopher told us otherwise, Now every pin upon that map Leaves another question behind. [Outro] “99.9% are US”... That was the story then. But federal records drew a bigger map. So let's count them again.
