Her studies at Oxford, and her career as a human rights and constitutional lawyer in New Zealand and overseas have been focused on holding governments to account, restoring communities after war, empowering women engaged in peace and justice initiatives, and in NZ, she has successfully advocated on human rights issues before the Supreme Court. She has volunteered her skills to advance justice reform, refugee and migrant rights, and for family carers of disabled persons. --------------------------------------------------Gina started their political journey as the Co-Convenor of the nationwide Young Greens network and becoming Co-Director of Make It 16, the campaign to lower the voting age which recently won their appeal against the Government in the Supreme Court. At 18, Gina was given the Trailblazer award at the 2020 GirlBoss Awards, and is now the running greens candidate for Mana.
