On Thursday, October 17th the City of Baltimore, the State of Maryland, and Congress lost a leader, a giant of a servant and a man of great integrity and pride of his beloved home town. Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, served his district and state with passion and distinction for more than three decades. During that time he's served on the committee that ushered in the Consumer Protection Board because he had a concern about people of color being used but credit card companies, banks, and payday lending institutions. He has a passion to make sure that the constituents in his predominately minority community wasn't taken advantage of because they had a need for credit, but couldn't afford the discriminatory practices of these companies. Tonight, we'll speak with former Civil Rights President and CEO of the National Association of the Advancement of Color People (NAACP) and former Maryland gubernatorial candiate Ben Jealous on his reflections of Congressman Elijah Cummings legacy.
