Good Friday

Friendship can seem possible only between equals, yet Jesus calls sinful people His friends. He willingly lays down His life on their behalf, paying the cost that real forgiveness requires and enduring betrayal, mockery and crucifixion. His cry that it is finished declares victory, and His resurrection shows that God’s justice against sin has been fully met. The cross joins justice with mercy and overturns worldly power.
