Good Friday is a day of remembrance and consideration. A day to reflect on what Jesus chose to do for us on the cross.  00:00 Today I want to approach GOOD FRIDAY from a theological perspective that will bring a fresh understanding of what Jesus did for us.  01:26 Here is a fresh perspective of what Jesus has done for you… 02:44 BIG IDEA: Today, Jesus is our high priest and He gave a sacrifice, himself, once and for all to satisfy and appease the wrath of God and made a way for forgiveness, compassion and access to eternity with Him. 03:20 Where are we at in the timeline of our story… 03:54 False trial and scourging… 05:44 And by this afternoon, Jesus would have breathed his last breath with IT IS FINISHED and died. 06:25 This is what happened in the physical realm… but what happened in the supernatural realm? 06:47 Hebrews 2:10-11, 14-18 08:30 Notice what the author calls Jesus… 09:36 The High Priest had to be human! 10:50 Why? So He could relate to us and ultimately have compassion on us. 11:05 He experienced temptations, thoughts, feelings, attractions… 12:30 Our great High Priest understands what you’re going through. 12:50 Hebrew 2:18 13:47 The High Priest was the only one who could offer sacrifices for the sins of the people. He was the only one who could enter the most holy place. 14:15 In the tabernacle of Moses, on the day of ATONEMENT the priest would go into the most holy place on behalf of the people in order to make a sacrifice for this sin. 15:13 On the day of atonement… 16:13 A transfer of the sins onto the goat. 17:00 Only the High Priest could enter the most holy place. 17:20 Hebrews 9:11-12 18:50 Jesus intercedes on our behalf. 20:32 What is this saying to us? 20:30 The sins of the people were placed on his back… 20:53 Hebrews 2:14-16 21:20 Jesus took back the keys of sin and death! 21:37 2 Timothy 1:10 21:50 Revelations 1:18 23:11 Jesus died, but went to the place of hell and broke the power of death!
