Good Friday Service

This Good Friday reflection moves between two gardens. It begins in Eden, where the first Adam grasped at being like God, and travels to Gethsemane, where the second Adam surrendered his will for the redemption of the human race. Drawing on Mark 14 , Isaiah 53 , and Hebrews 5 , the message dwells on Jesus' anguish in the garden, astonished and overwhelmed as he comes into contact with the full weight of sin he had never known. His prayer that the cup pass receives the answer "no," because there was no other way for sinners to be saved. The teaching ends with three reminders: Jesus passes the point of no return in obedience, is led like a lamb to the slaughter, and that Friday's grief is not the end, because Sunday is coming.
