GOOD MEDICINE, With Sayaka Lean Of The Herb Pharm

from Cultivating Place · host Jennifer Jewell

In this first week of winter in the Northern Hemisphere, Cultivating Place speaks this week with medicinal and habitat gardener Sayaka Lean of the Herb Pharm in Southern Oregon. Informed by her own Japanese cultural gardening traditions, Sayaka is the lead gardener of the Herb Pharm’s public medicinal plant display garden (the Botanical Education Garden), where she cultivates more than 500 native and non-native medicinal plants from around the world. Sayaka engages the garden as well in community collaborations with United Plant Savers, whose work is to protect and raise awareness about the medicinal plants of North America, and as a Flagship Farm for the Oregon Bee Project/Atlas out of Oregon State University. It is good medicine for the season. Listen in! Cultivating Place now has a donate button! We thank you so much for listening over the years and we hope you'll support Cultivating Place.
