Goodbye Darkport, Hello Sharkface (DnDeBrief 017)

D&DeBrief episode 017 - Goodbye Darkport, Hello Sharkface Summary: Axley and Reyla are 'stuck' in the Curiosity with Blaxley Chillingquest and Toddeus. While the Goat discusses how to run a guild with Blaxley, Axley tries to comfort Reyla and find out if she knows anything. Meanwhile, back in the Chamber of Eyes, Marcel, Emmeryn, and Khonnos figure out how to destroy the dog statue and then Emmeryn calls on her Goddess Goras to help get them out of the Temple safely. The group is finally reunited and makes their way off of the Dark Plateau. Axley pilots the Curiosity safely back to the Tempest's Fortune and the group tries to figure out what the heck Leralak is and what he is doing. When they arrive, they find there is another ship - a large galleon - floating in the ocean a few hundred feet away from the Tempest's Fortune. There has been a message delivered by some blue goblins requesting a duel and there is a herd of sharks circling the group's ship. They set about devising a plan to deal with the pirates. Debrief: We discuss the importance of being flexible when a player makes a PC that is specialized for a particular environment or type of campaign, but then the game ends up putting the PCs predominantly in a different environment or the entire campaign takes off in an unexpected direction.
