Goodman's Thumb Injury Halts Rockies Surge | Colorado Rockies News

Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman had to exit Monday’s game against the Padres after suffering thumb soreness from a throw to second during warm-ups — but the injury likely occurred earlier, during his headfirst slide into third on a triple in the sixth inning. Despite leaving with the Rockies rallying from a six-run deficit, Goodman had an impressive day at the plate: 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run scored, and a walk. His departure is a tough blow for the team, especially as he was hitting well, but injuries are part of the game — fans will be watching closely for his recovery and return.
