Google’s AI Overview Lies & Massive LAPD Records Hack

A new analysis finds Google’s AI Overviews give incorrect or misleading answers about 10% of the time, raising concerns about reliability. Researchers warn the errors often appear confident, increasing the risk of users trusting false information as AI search tools become more widespread.  A March hack of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office exposed over 7 terabytes of sensitive LAPD records—including internal affairs files, officer personnel data, witness identities, and medical records—across more than 337,000 documents.
