Gospel Clarity in a Confusing Culture // The Greatness of Love

Brandon Fisher | Jul 5 2026 1 Corinthians 13 may be the most famous chapter in the Bible. It’s all about love. It’s read at many weddings and is familiar to many both inside and outside the church. But what makes this chapter so famous? Why are we so familiar with it? Because deep down this is what we were created for and longing for: perfect love. And we are ultimately meant to find that love in Jesus and then display that love in church. We can often forget that the context of this passage comes in a section where Paul is talking about the church and exercising spiritual gifts in the church. God wants love to be at the center of all we do as a church. Which requires us asking what else can replace love at the center? What does it look like for us to love one another? And how do we continue to grow into the loving people that God desires us to be? 1 Corinthians 13 helps to direct us in all these areas.
