Date: 12.06.09 Speaker: Kristian Martens Texts: Genesis 1-3, Proverbs 31:10-31, Ephesians 5:31-33, 1 Cor 7:8-9, Hebrews 13:4-6, 1 Peter 5:6-7 Summary: This week we wrap up our study of sexuality, gender & relationships through the lens of the Gospel. We'll look at both the gift of singleness and the joy of marriage, and some of the biblical guidelines for moving from the former to the latter. This will be one of the more practical sermons thus far at Reality, taking on more of a pastoral / counselor tone. If you're not married but would like to be, this may act as some pre-marital counseling. If you're married but less than satisfied, some of this material may give you and your husband/wife much to pray about & work through together. If you're married and are in bliss, consider yourself blessed by God. That's what your marriage was intended for. My prayer is that whether you're divorced, married, single, widowed, or some combination thereof - and whether you are submitted to Jesus as Lord or not - that this message will resonate in your heart & soul. You were made for so much more. You are an image bearer of Jesus - and your relationships either point people towards Jesus or away from Him. Turn to Jesus & receive forgiveness for the past & hope for the future.
