Spurgeon argues that Christian missionaries and preachers aren't seeing as much success converting people as the apostles did in Bible times because modern Christians lack the same passion, courage, and faith. He criticizes ministers for being too comfortable, not willing to risk their lives or face danger for spreading the gospel, and for not fully trusting that God's message alone is powerful enough to save people without fancy arguments or additions.
