Gospel of Matthew - Matthew 12:22-42 - "God's House Divided"

There is escalating conflict between the Pharisees and Jesus. While following the letter of the law, they elevated themselves above the people. They failed to see God's mercy and grace and therefore failed in their interpretation of scripture. They became blind in their pride, and rejected the fulfillment of prophecy concerning their Messiah, Jesus, who is right before their eyes. Hardened hearts and haughty spirits have brought them dangerously close to blaspheming the Holy Ghost. Jesus is having none of it, and calls them out on it. We are either for Him, or against Him. We are gatherers or scatterers. There are only two destinations, heaven or hell. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, who testifies of Jesus, and will lead us into all truth...if we let Him.
