Gospel of Matthew - Matthew 26:1-19 - "The Alabaster Box"

In Matthew 26, plans are being made to kill the Son of God. As with some other famous conspiracies to commit murder, this plan did not pan out exactly how the conspirators planned it. However, it did happen exactly as God planned it. Chief priests and scribes conspired to kill Jesus Christ. Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples, at which time He said that one of them would betray Him. And we are reminded of the precious ointment that Mary poured out on Jesus head, washing His feet with her hair to honor Him. Jesus reveals that she was in fact preparing Him for His burial.
