Pet peeves are fascinating because they don’t announce themselves as rules. They arrive disguised as preferences, but behave like moral law. Somewhere between “I don’t like that” and “You are a bad person for doing that,” a pet peeve is born.They are small, specific irritations that punch above their weight.
