Hailing from San Jose, Costa Rica, Ariel Maniki formed the Black Halos in 2014 then releasing the debut album, "The Descending" in 2015. While line up changes in 2016 saw the addition of long time keyboardist Janice Black, they then released their second album, "Labyrinth," the "Teargarden EP" and the signing to Brazilian label Deepland Records. Their third album followed in 2017 called "Ritual" with the band embarking on the Ritual Tour the following year which took them throughout Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, The UK, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic. Eva Red then joined the band resulting in the present day trio,Ariel Maniki and the Black Halos. Their 4th album, "Jade" in 2019 followed by another tour to Mexico and Brazil. In 2020, they released an acoustic session EP and video called "Live Under Will." Their most current epic full-length studio album is called "Black Light" via Deepland Records which includes the well- received singles, "Strangers" and "Emptiness" along with remixes from UK musician, DJ and World Goth Day Co-founder BatBoy Slim and Colombian darkwave/Coldwave duo Antiflvx.According to Ariel Maniki, "The lyrics explore the many different internal and emotional parts of oneself, especially the darkest ones, which we are expected to bury and suppress.
