Gov. Evers hosts Ice Cream Town Hall at Rudy’s — where else should campaign stops be?

It’s one thing to host an “Ice Cream Town Hall” — but politicians could aim higher. UW-La Crosse political science professor Dr. Anthony Chergosky in studio, along with WIZM’s Brad Williams, to discuss Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers visiting La Crosse for his “Ice Cream Town Hall” at Rudy’s. But it brought up a lot of questions. Is Rudy's the place for ice cream or root beer floats? Where else in the area should we be holding themed town halls? Where should Republicans go to get Democrat's ears and vice versa? After that, we had some fun with a quirky CBS 58 gimmick, where a reporter spends 58 minutes on one activity — the latest stunt involved riding the tilt-a-whirl at the state fair. How might WIZM pull off something similar on 1410 AM or 92.3 FM? The rest of the show circled back to the Wisconsin governor’s race. Chergosky broke down the early field — two Republicans and one Democrat so far — and we discussed U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s suggestion that GOP hopefuls should “get in a room” and decide who has the best shot. Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez remains the lone Democrat in the race.
