Government Chief Whip Mary Butler on fuel blockades and shortages

from Déise Today · host WLR

As widely reported this morning (Friday), the blockades of fuel depots in Limerick and Galway, as well as at the country's only refinery in Cork, are starting to lead to fuel shortages countrywide. Yesterday, service stations in the south and west ran out of diesel and petrol and by this morning more than a hundred forecourts had run dry, said Fuels for Ireland. Here in Waterford, the impact is also being felt with major queues in forecourts yesterday afternoon and reports some filling stations had run out of diesel. Mary Butler, Government Chief Whip, Minister of State and TD for Waterford, was in studio this morning for Deise Today, reacting to the situation.
