Care is a public good, and governments are the primary duty bearers for its provision. The world urgently needs policies that recognize, reduce, and redistribute care work and reward and represent care workers. As of October 29th, 2024, 21 national governments and 28 local governments have demonstrated commitment to these principles by joining the Global Alliance for Care.
