G.P.S. (God’s Positioning System) Part 3 - Distractions 1Corinthians 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world... On your trip, you may MISS the directions because the radio is too loud, texts and phone calls, people in the car are talking to you, there are distractions on the road. Some COMPETING voices in the world: (Ref. Luke 4:1; 1Corinthians 7:5; Revelation 20:8,10; Luke 1:11-21; Numbers 13:26-14:30; Acts 21:10-14; Proverbs 29:25; John 12:42; 2Peter 2:1-3; 2Timothy 4:1-5) 1. The DEVIL (temptation, fear, doubt, condemnation). 2. The DOUBTERS / naysayers. 3. Public OPINIONS (AKA: Fear of Men). 4. FALSE teaching. 5. The FLESH. Some DISTRACTIONS: (Ref. 1John 2:15-17; Matthew 13:18-23; Mark 4:13-20; Luke 8:11-15) 1. Lust of the EYE. 2. Lust of the FLESH. 3. PRIDE of life. 4. DOUBT. 5. Persecution, trouble, and DIFFICULTY for following Jesus. 6. WORRIES of this life. 7. PLEASURES of this life. 8. WEALTH. Our challenge is to FOCUS on, faithfully prioritize, and LISTEN to the voice of the Lord. John 10:2-5 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” This will require you to make CHANGES in your life.
