Our next installment of our summer series, “Grab Bag,” draws our attention to a series of “blessings” Jesus pronounces in the Gospel of Matthew. Known as “The Beatitudes,” these blessings are announced to people in unlikely situations - we don’t often feel blessed when mourning, hungry, or persecuted, for example.
