Grace in the House of Mercy (Rev. Tony Myles) 5/10/26

This week we continue in our sermon series, "That You May Know." Today in John 5, Jesus steps into the brokenness of a man who has waited thirty‑eight years for healing. At the Pool of Bethesda—literally the House of Mercy—Jesus reveals that true mercy isn’t found in superstition, striving, or ceremony. It’s found in Him. This message invites us to see how Jesus brings rest to those who are exhausted, overlooked, and spiritually stuck. Main Point: Jesus offers weary sinners the gracious rest they cannot find anywhere else. We’ll explore how: -Jesus meets us where our strength ends and His mercy begins. -No ritual can do what the living Christ freely gives. -Jesus stands above every system, rule, and power that tries to limit His work. If you feel spiritually tired, stuck in patterns you can’t break, or weighed down by expectations you can’t meet, this passage shows that Jesus doesn’t wait for you to get it together.
