from Angel City Culture Quest · host Host Melina Paris, Music by Terence Toy, Edited by Douglas Johnson, Guest Maria Kriya

Maria Kriya has been practicing yoga for 19 years. For her, yoga was a transformational tool for mental health and resilience. She began her career as a special needs teacher. Soon after, at 29, she started practicing yoga. Then she began to teach it, first to children and then adults. She didn’t have formal yoga training but she had been practicing for five years. Maria says that when she discovered yoga, she realized that combining yoga tools for kids with special needs would be a great skill for kids to learn, to help themselves emotionally.Find Maria at, [email protected]

Today we speak to Maria Kriya who has recently authored her first book, Graceful Warrior: What One Needs To Be And What One Can Be.
