We've had a few hiccups trying to get the basho coverage together (don't worry, we're still covering all 15 days!), but until the first Aki episode comes out we just had to make sure everyone knew about the next upcoming US amateur tournament, the Beer City Sumo Open! We also wanted to make sure everyone knows about the ultimate radness that is the Grand Rapids Sumo Club, who are hosting this amazing tournament complete with a clay dohyo in the middle of a huge international art festival! Founded by Gabe Unick and Micah Hepler, who have both been in the amateur sumo scene for several years, GBSC is one of the clubs at the forefront of a rapidly growing Midwest sumo ichimon!
