Granville Explosion Claims Third Life | Montpelier News

A third person has died in the devastating Granville, Vermont house explosion from September 5th — 69-year-old Sheila Hammond, who was hospitalized out of state. The blast, caused by an accidental propane leak, leveled the home and claimed the lives of 20-year-old Liam O’Sullivan and his mother, 46-year-old Sarah O’Sullivan, a longtime UVM employee, during what was supposed to be a family birthday party. Two others were injured but expected to recover. Authorities continue investigating the leak’s origin, but confirm it was unintentional — a tragic reminder of how fast disaster can strike.
